Plan to hire native English-speaking teachers in Thailand

The Office of Basic Education Commission (Obec) will seek a Bt350million budget to hire 300 native English-speaking teachers for its primary and secondary schools to tackle the shortage of English teachers, a senior official said yesterday.

According to the proposal, the native speakers would each get about Bt1 million per year - a salary of Bt83,000 per month - compared to the Bt9,000 per month drawn by Thais teaching English.

TEFL Phuket - Accommodation

The TESOL trainees enrolled for TEFL Course in Phuket would be able to avail accommodation from 12 noon on Saturday. This provision of instant accommodation for the TESOL certificate seekers who are landing in Thailand for the first time would serve as a cushion, helping them to adapt and acclimatize to the new culture.

Our TEFL course in Phuket is organized in Seaside Village of Bang Tao in the Surin Beach. There are 2 rooms in the center, each having a double bed and air conditioning with a shared bathroom and a kitchen. The rooms are clean and spacious with cooking facilities and Wi Fi. As the demand of these rooms are high the candidates are offered these rooms on a first come first serve basis for just 21-30 nights.

Our other accommodation is just 10 min walking distance from our TEFL training center. Each room has a modern attached bathroom, Wi Fi, T.V, refrigerator and a wardrobe.

We have another accommodation facility which the students can avail if they are fond of bungalow style accommodation. However, this facility is 25 minutes walk from the TEFL center.

The cost of accommodation is around 400 USD.
